CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The Carolinas Human Rights Organizing Conference (CHRONIC) invites proposals for a regional conference focused on community organizing, human rights abuses and current situations locally and worldwide. The conference seeks Human Rights activists, community organizers, students, and policy makers from across the region to exchange experiences and collaborate on future actions and to network.
We invite proposals for Presentations, Interactive Workshops, Arts and Cultural Presentations, and Activist or Identity Caucuses. These proposals may identify an important conversation you propose to facilitate and the unique methods or tools you would use to lead that dialogue. Proposals may come from individuals or groups. All proposals should be engaging, dynamic, and strive to be accessible to a diverse audience of both emerging leaders and long-time activists. We strive to create a conference program that reflects the diversity of our communities and movements. We may offer suggestions for alternate speakers if your proposal lacks diversity, and will work with you to confirm a final speaker lineup.
Proposals should reflect the interactive working nature of the event, focused on local action and resistance to advance and secure human rights, As a working conference, it will be an event where conference sessions include facilitated conversations, interactive sessions, and where attendees work to build partnerships and develop collaborative strategies.
Our call is open to the following categories of Human Rights and fronts of struggle issues:
